My Art Statement:
Everything what can be digital will be digital (said by Benny Landa, the „Steve Jobs“ of the printing industry) - like 3D printing is changing the way of how we design and build things, digital photos replaced polaroids, photo books replaced the paper albums etc.
Several Social Media concepts tried to digitalize also our lives and the relationships between humans. These concepts fail because they just simplify the way of staying connected, making our live public (like Facebook, Google+, Twitter etc.) and predictable (like Amazon).
But: Facebook is just the symptom! The root cause of this sickness is superficiality.
The result of this sickness is what I call „Anti-Real-Relationship“.
This superfaciality is shown in the artificial connections and relationships on social medias. For me it is terrible to see how real friends, resl relations and feelings getting less important.
Of course these social medias revolutionized the way of communication and made it easier to stay connected regardless where we are at the moment. Everything what makes our live easier and faster has a chance to be successful, but for me art has to be more than that. Art has to show the missing part of the digitalized world.
My art has to be seen as a counterpart of this „Anti-Real-Relationship“ in our spirit of time. It should show emotions, humans, faces in a way what you cannot digitalize.
The beauty of interpersonal emotions you can just show with individual art and not in the standardized facebook-layout. Everything on these pages have to be standardized and easy to handle (usability of webpages), but real beauty and especially real emotions are not easy and are never standard.
But not only the sunny side of the world should be represented in my art - People not just love leach other - they hate and fight - also war and destruction is part of the human interaction and part of my art.
My work should not show the reality 1:1 - the colors, proportions and poses I use are reflecting my emotions and feelings during the painting process. It is an interactive process between my soul, the model or person and the canvas - interactive realism.
